Holmes started a plumbing and heating business located at 802 Watertown Street in West Newton. He offered complete plumbing and heating service and installations in the greater Boston area. In the early 1950's he was joined by his sons Stephen and Philip who with him incorporated the business and moved to a new location at 97 Border Street in West Newton. At that time plumbing and heating for new construction, residential and commercial boiler replacement, fire protection sprinkler systems, power drain cleaning and 24 hour service were added to the services offered to our customers. Stephen's daughter, Susanne M. Holmes started her association with the business in 1990, receiving a master plumbers license, and construction supervisor's license. In January 2001, Susanne became president of the company. Under her direction, with a strong management team, R.P. Holmes, Corp. is evolving to meet the changing needs of our expanding customer base. We now offer, in addition to our regular services, complete remodeling of kitchens and bathrooms, small additions, backflow testing, and air conditioning service. We feel our most valuable assets are the trust and confidence that generations of customers have placed on us. We shall continue the same high quality of service and satisfaction that has been offered to R.P Holmes, Corp. customers for the past 73 years.
